More Up...or On the Way Down?

2024 has started with a 2-day selloff -- mostly in the tech and growth stock sector. Growth stocks both raise fast and fall fast. SOFI (which is not a stock I recommend at this time) dropped nearly 14% today. CELH, which is a holding in the Model Portfolio, dropped over 6% today.

The market went on a tremendous run in 2023, so a pullback is to be expected. The question is whether this is a short-term pullback or a long-term pullback. Some say the US will experience a recession in 2024. Some say a "soft landing" is possible. The truth is, no one knows.

I don't have any plans to sell any shares in the Model Portfolio, for now at least. I also have quite a bit of hypothetical cash in the portfolio. From the beginning (or near it), I saw it as a $25,000 portfolio. The Model Portfolio holds about $15,000 in assets, so about $10,000 in cash. Of course, not everyone has that much cash on the sidelines.
But when I go add shares, it will be slowly over time. I will not deploy the cash in lump-sum type investing.

As of now, these are my top priority stocks to add to.

1. NOW
2. MELI
3. CELH
4. NU
5. TTD

I give an honorable mention to ASML.

Here are some stocks on my radar.

LMND -- insurance disruptor (target price is about $10)
MNDY -- hyper-growth cloud-based software company, specializing in workplace applications (target price $150)
ENPH - a leading solar company that specializes in microinverters
MSFT -- mega-cap tech leader specializing in software and cloud-computing (target price $320)
NVDA -- leading semiconductor company, way ahead of others in AI application (target price $450)
ZS -- leading company in cloud-computing security (target price $175)
ANET -- a high-quality company specializing in cloud-networking solutions, including software and hardware
ESTC -- offers software products for cloud-computing, including data analytics, search, and user interface
SHOP -- ubiquitous e-commerce platform that helps merchants market and sell their products, manage inventory, and secure working capital (among other functions)
DOCN -- SMB cloud-computing company with solid growth and customer retention
MDB -- hyper-growth software company specializing in data-solutions

That's all for now.
